Cert ID's BRC Enrolment Programme

The Enrolment Programme is the new entry level to BRC certification. It was introduced in Issue 6 of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety to solve the chicken & egg dilemma of new producers.

 
No records  = no certification
No certification = no production
No production = no records = no certification
Result = lose/lose

The Enrolment Programme allows new producers to demonstrate their commitment and progress to the standard formally and transparently to prospective customers before gaining certification.

Who is eligible?

Any food manufacturer who has not previously been certified to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, but has certification as a medium term objective can join the Enrolment Programme.

How does it work?

• Clients contract with Cert ID for an Enrolment Programme. 
• Cert ID will carry out a full BRC evaluation.
• Site either awarded formal certification or a score based on non-conformances.
• Unlike the previous system there is no “fail”.
• Sites generate an improvement plan which is published in a private area of the BRC Directory together with the site score.
• The plan can be updated to demonstrate improvement to prospective purchasers.
• When improvement plan achieved Cert ID complete formal certification.
